They weren't kidding!

Environment Canada got the weather report right.  We got 20 CM/8 IN yesterday!  They say more precipitation is on the way.  They can't predict where rain or snow will fall so we may add to this later today.  Instead of planting our bulbs, we are shoveling.

Take me back to Punta Cana!

Snow at the end of February?

It's rare, but we are watching the snow fall.  We were well warned so we are staying in until it stops and is safe to drive!  We don't have snow tires but have a 4 x 4 and all weather tires.  It's great to be retired and not worry about getting to work!

You have to admire the Aussies!

On April 28, 1996, a gunman opened fire on tourists in a seaside resort in Port Arthur, Tasmania.  By the time he was finished, he had killed 35 people and wounded 23 more.  It was the worst mass murder in Australia's history.  Twelve days later, Australia did something remarkable.  Led by newly elected conservative Prime Minister John Howard, it announced a bipartisan deal with state and local governments to enact sweeping gun-control measures.  A decade and a half hence, the results are clear:  They worked really, really well.

Now all the Aussies have to fear is some of the animals you see below!

This Python snake is not yawning,
It's got its teeth hooked on the steel wires!

Could you get away if this one bit you?
Note: The wires are 10 inches apart,
