Social Media

I really enjoy Facebook and Twitter.  However, the hate against political leaders and entertainers really bothers me.  Why people put these horrible attacks on social media is beyond me.  I don't always agree with politicians but I don't "hate" them.  I know everyone has an opinion but I wish they would stop using the offensive adjectives.

Fake news is also troubling.  There are many pictures shown that are troubling and they've been photo shopped.  Why do people do this?  A relative on a cruise when Hurricane Harvey hit was shown a picture of the Houston airport.  On this cruise were people who were from the Houston area and very troubled by what they were seeing.
Fake picture, many believed it was Houston airport flooded!
I wonder how much false information we will get with Hurricane Irma.  I've checked the web cams in Key West and they are down.  Not surprising.  Facebook was filled with so much misinformation during the last US election.  You really don't know what to believe.  On today's Global morning news was a father from Port Coquitlam who was worried about his daughter and wife in Saint Maarten.  He said there has been no help from the Canadian government.  With one search I found yes there has been and a flight is being sent today to evacuate people.  Was this an old interview or is he not getting proper information?  I tweeted the TV station with the link.

I enjoy keeping connected with friends and former co-workers around the world.  I love to see pictures of their travels and families.  I just read one of my newly found cousins daughter is #33 on the Canadian Invictus team!  She was interviewed by CTV and her interview was shown on Facebook!  I will follow Cheryl Bush #33 Canadian team.  Without Facebook I never would have been connected with this cousin! Sometimes there are funny articles that catch you off guard.  This was posted yesterday from a friend the UK:

BREAKING NEWS IN CUMBRIA .

Police have found £12 million worth of cocaine,
6 AK47 assault rifles and 200 live hand grenades at a residence next to the library in Barrow.

Residents are said to be incredibly shocked as they didn't realise that there was actually a library in Barrow.
