We arrived last night. Long day, great flight. When we planned our trip, we decided this was a special trip and we'd go first class. First class in 2017 is not what it was in 1970. At least we had lots of elbow and leg room. I worked for the airlines for 15 years and was mostly upgraded to first on all our flights. We went American Airlines and Cheryl and Dave went Air Canada. It's all about price and air miles these days! All our flights were on time and all the luggage arrived!
We rented a Kia Sedona SUV and it fits all of us and all our luggage. Because we flew first class we brought an extra suitcase for shopping. Right now the Fort Lauderdale boat show is on and the Embassy Suites on 17th Street, our usual hotel, is $500 a night! Everything around the waterfront was pricey so we opted to stay by Sawgrass Mills, the huge factory outlet mall. We've done well here in the past and Cheryl and Dave are ready for a full day of shopping. I'm out to finish my Christmas shopping. I won't be popular when I buy children clothes but the moms will be happy. I have my list from Catherine!
I love getting up and putting on the cams. Yesterday on Facebook a few people shared pictures of the snow but this morning I can see the street corner right by where we live! Roads could be icy but it doesn't look like there is a lot of snow. However, it is 4:46 AM and I haven't checked the forecast. Richard arrives home this morning from Maui!
The mall opens in an hour and there is free breakfast in the lobby! Off for a great shopping day. Tomorrow we cruise!
