Dentist

In 1985 my long time dentist retired.  I found a dentist in the local paper who worked nights.  That worked out well as I was working downtown and daytime appointments were difficult.  Dr. Darrell Douglas was starting up a practice and rented space from another dentist.  It was at a local mall and parking was easy.  When his practice increased, he opened his own office at another mall, close to where we lived and again parking was easy.

When we moved out to Surrey we decided to move everything including doctors.  We lucked out by getting a medical doctor right by our new home.  I was reluctant to move dentists, because you only go every six months and I really liked Dr. Douglas.  After getting into a horrible mess of traffic going to my semi-annual cleaning, I found a dentist right beside my doctor.  I really liked the way they clean my teeth and I haven't had a cavity so I've never had any "work" done.  During my last cleaning, they told me my bridge that's in the back of my mouth was breaking and it was stressing out the other teeth.  They told me it would be $3,700.  I have a dental plan that probably pays half.

I thought I should go back to Dr. Douglas as he put the bridge in right after I started going to him!  If it lasted that long then he can replace it.  Yesterday morning there was a car fire in the tunnel.  So, traffic hell again but I had an appointment so I better go.  Well, according to Dr. Douglas there is nothing wrong with my bridge.  He said it is fine!

I am so glad I went back to my old dentist.  He's a super guy.  He loves to travel and I always hear about his travels.  He's going to Cork, Ireland in September.  He told me it wasn't pleasure he was taking his oldest daughter because she's going to university there.  She's been accepted in their dental program!  His son is also planning on dentistry.   We'll be in Cork in three weeks!  He plans on seeing Ireland with his wife as they have never been there.  I'll see him again in six months and we can compare our trips.

E-bikes, theft protection and laws!

This information is from the RCMP.  I never knew there were laws and penalties for e-bikes. WHAT IS AN E-BIKE? An electric bike, or e-bike, ...
