Monica and Rod

Monica and Cec
Monica and Cec are third cousins.  Monica and Rod live in Quesnel and have four sons.  We met them for the first time when we visited them last year in Quesnel.  They just returned the visit!  It was awesome to see them.  They were under evacuation alert because of a close forest fire but thankfully it was lifted just before they came to Vancouver.

They still have one son Thomas at home and right now he's spending a month with his Scout Troop in the UK!  Rod has been involved with Scouts for 20 years.  Rod's mom, who turns 84 in November, has volunteered with Girl Guides since 1964!  She is still involved with this wonderful organization!

Thomas is entering Grade 12 this year.  Monica celebrated her 50th birthday last Sunday.
Rod, Monica and Jeff Schwarz

Rod and Monica are fans of The Liquidator TV show.  We went to visit Jeff's store in Burnaby on Wednesday.  Monica had him autograph one of his t-shirts and he stopped to talk to them.  Jeff is a good friend of my nephew, Brad.  I met Jeff about eight years ago when Brad and I visited Direct Liquidation before the TV show started.  When I shook Jeff's hand on Wednesday, I said "I'm Brad Newell's aunt".  He said, "I remember you, you bought furniture from me!"  What an incredible memory!

Jeff said he's working with A & E and History in the US to reinstate The Liquidator TV show.  It was broadcast in Canada on OLN for four seasons, 91 episodes.  It was very successful but because of finances, in December 2015, it stopped production.  Jeff does a lot of good in the community and he's the same character in real life as he is on the show.   If anyone is in the market for appliances, they are waiting for LG appliances to arrive!  If you follow them on Facebook and you need appliances the prices will be amazing!

Rod and Monica are continuing with their vacation going to Hope to see the Othello Tunnels and then will hopefully go to Princeton if the forest fires allow them.  With so many fires burning, they will have to figure out a way home.  They don't have to be back in Quesnel until next Tuesday and I hope they enjoy the remainder of their trip.

It was a pleasure to have you visit us!
