Shortly after lunchtime, our school was placed in a Hold and Secure as a precaution while police investigated an incident in the neighbourhood that was unrelated to the school. After about 65 minutes, police declared the school was all clear.
There was no direct threat or risk for students and staff.
I'm proud to say all our students and staff responded appropriately and implemented the Hold and Secure very well.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the school.
I now have the app and will get messages!
I left home at 1:30 and drove by the school. There were about 10 police cars and police walking all over the sidewalk, adjacent to the school. I sent Lexie a text message if she needed me to go to the school. I didn't hear and she came out right on time. She was not phased at all! They all thought it was "another drill". No one believed it was real so they weren't concerned. She said they kept them inside during PE and that's when they figured something serious could be happening but no one really got upset or concerned. Obviously the school handled it very well.
The school website has a monthly newsletter. The May newsletter is 42 pages! The information in this newsletter is amazing! All the information parents and students need and so much information on career development and scholarship information.
