California Earthquakes!

I'm sure you've heard about the recent California earthquakes.  Cec's cousins, Marv and Joan live in Highland, CA, 124 miles south from the epicenter of the first quake on July 4th.  He posted on Facebook right after it happened.  They had no damage but of course were shaken.

Last night I was on my computer and got a message from my cousin Dale who lives in Las Vegas.  She just felt a huge quake!  She was in LA during the Northridge earthquake in 1994 so she knows what a big earthquake feels like.  I called her immediately and we spoke for an hour.

On Wednesday, Cheryl and I are going to Los Angeles!  I never usually worry about a trip, but I must say I am concerned.

I am also concerned about Vancouver.  My dad was working in downtown Vancouver and on Granville Street when the 1946 quake hit.   It was 7.0 and struck near Forbidden Plateau area northwest of Courtenay, BC.  My dad said Granville Street actually "waved"!  My parents talked about that for years!

We have our earthquake kit and I make sure we always have plenty of water on hand.

It's time for Aunty Acid
