Let's Make A Deal

On September 2, 1980, I went to Let's Make A Deal with my co-worker and friend Laurie.  It was filming in West Vancouver.  I was selected to be a contestant and when Monte Hall gave me a wallet I traded it for curtain #3.  I won a case of Turtle Wax and three pigs!   I will never forget that day as it was Cheryl's first day of school!

On September 26, 2013, Cheryl and I went to Let's Make A Deal after leaving a repositioning cruise to Los Angeles and before a trip to Disneyland.  I was once again chosen and won a trip to Florida.  I gave up the trip and went for the big deal of the day!   I chose door #2 won $6,900 US worth of prizes.  The Lennox china was worth $4,000 and it is exquisite.  We've put it away and it's for Lexie.  It's an experience you will never forget.  Even if you get a zonk, just being chosen is the thrill!

Wednesday, July 10th, Cheryl and I went to Los Angeles!  She got tickets and we decided to try our luck once again.  You can go on Let's Make A Deal every three years.  I didn't want to be chosen but was really hoping she was!

Picture taken at the studio!
We both dressed as pigs.  As you can see, Cheryl was "Pig Latin".  I went as "Pig English" and together we were Canadian Bacon.  We got to the studio around 8:30 and were the 38th and 39th people in line.  They give you a number to wear for identification.  Cheryl said "39 is my lucky number!".  The guy said "well, I've never heard that one before".  She said my daughter was born on March 9th!   We entered the studio and then the fun began.

The costumes and the people were amazing!

We talked a lot with this couple.  They lived in LA and have 5 children!
He was the tooth fairy and she was the tooth!
150 people are in the audience, here are some of them.
Once we left this room, we boarded buses and were taken to a studio 2 1/2 miles away.  We were seated as the producer requested.  Last time we were in the front row and this time we were in the very back row.  Your seat does not matter.  Wayne Brady picks from every seat in the audience.

When we entered, we signed an agreement with CBS that we would not disclose anything that happened in the show.  We are not allowed to say if we were chosen or if we won anything.  All we are able to say is "Watch the show, we are in the audience".  The show is scheduled to be broadcast on Monday, January 20th!  In Canada it's shown on City TV and in the US on CBS.  It was AWESOME!  Be sure to watch it right to the end!!!!!
