Operation Inspiration

Coinciding with the 7 PM cheer, BC General Aviation Society organized a flyover, the same path as the Snowbirds should have completed last night.   35 private planes participated.  They started in Abbotsford and flew to Langley, White Rock, Surrey, Maple Ridge, Pitt Meadows, Coquitlam, Port Moody, Burnaby, North and West Vancouver, Jericho Beach, English Bay, and downtown Vancouver.  For safety reasons, they stayed 1/2 a mile apart.
I took these screen shots from Flight Aware.  That way we knew exactly where they were.

After they flew over Surrey, they headed to Maple Ridge.   Then over to North and West Vancouver.
They purposely stayed away from Richmond and South Delta to avoid YVR aircraft.
You can see  large aircraft departing YVR.
I got pictures of the flyover, but the planes are very high.  These pictures were taken by a professional photographer on Twitter:

My friend who lives in White Rock said they flew past right at 7 when the neighbourhood was out clapping, banging pots and tooting horns.  She said it was very emotional!

A wonderful tribute to Capt. Jennifer Casey and the Snowbirds!
