Anniversary

We stayed up late watching the US election.   After Donald Trumps appearance, we went to bed.  At 6:07AM, our power went out.  Why it woke us up, I have no idea, but we both got up.  No coffee, no heat and thankfully for the Shaw app, we watched the US news on my cell phone.  Not a huge screen, but at least we heard what went on overnight.

A car hit a power pole on Highway 15 a long way from us, but it was in our power grid.  We were on the edge of the outage, so the mall across 152 was open.   Last time we had a power outage I went to Starbucks but this time decided to walk a little further to McDonalds.  We've lived here 12 years and I've never been in that McDonalds!   I ordered coffees and egg McMuffins.  By the time I walked home, the power was on.  The breakfast was a treat!

Dinner was at New York, New York, a great Greek restaurant.  Since COVID they don't open for lunch but they are open for dinner.  It's family run and been at the same location for years.

I ordered the Spanokopita.   The chef makes it in house and it's delicious.
Cec always has the roast lamb.  It's a huge portion and very tasty.

The restaurant had table cloths on the tables before, but with COVID they have disappeared and there is lots of plexiglass and the restaurant is spotless.

I'm married to a comedian.  Years ago we went to a crowded restaurant and the hostess asked for our name.  Cec came back laughing and I never thought much of it.  Then we heard "Tea for Two".  He thinks changing our name is pretty funny.  The older people waiting to be seated got it and laughed.  I just shook my head.  We've been Gretzky, Gorbachev and Pavarotti!   Now, I give our name at the desk.

We went to the IHOP and we know Debbie the manager.  She worked with Cheryl at the IHOP in Richmond years ago.  Debbie was seating people and knows our name.  She asked Cec for his phone number.  So Cec said "can I have your phone number"?  Good thing she knows us!

A smile starts on the lips, a grin spreads to the eyes, a chuckle comes from the belly but a good laugh bursts forth from the soul overflows and bubbles all around.
