I was relieved yesterday to see the BC COVID numbers were levelling off. At Christmas we all stayed in our homes and it showed. New Years, we stayed home too, but not everyone did. Surrey Mounties issued $9,200.00 in fines New Years Eve and New Years Day to residents for not obeying the health order.
The politicians we elect who went out of the country deserve to lose their jobs! The government issued a non-essential travel ban in March. Nothing has changed and why the heck they feel it doesn't apply to them infuriates me.
We have two more Zoom calls this weekend with friends and relatives in the UK. Our longtime friend Janey emailed yesterday. She wrote, "we've got another lockdown". "It doesn't really matter because we've stayed in since March". Her dad is 98 and lives in assisted living. She took him to her home in March and he's still there. Jane and her husband retired just before COVID and as she said they didn't expect retirement to be like it is.
