Happy Winter Solstice

Today is the final day of answering Letters to Santa.  I thought the letter from the cat was unique, but yesterday Carol got one from a hamster!  She answered the hamster letter and we all had a good laugh.

Santa is getting lots of cookies, glasses of milk, beer and one house is leaving him vodka.  The reindeer will love all the carrots they are being left.  

And now for my rant:

The world's largest cruise ship, Royal Caribbean's Symphony of the Seas is returning to Florida with 48 cases of COVID.  The news is making this a huge news story.  6,091 passengers and crew on board.  48 cases.  I call that a miracle, not a news story.  

Would I travel or cruise now, NO!  Is it a huge news story, NO!   

Cruise ships are one of the cleanest places right now.  Everyone is tested before and during the cruise.  Everyone must be vaccinated except children under 5.  Masks are mandatory everywhere except when eating.  Every cruise must report cases of 10 or more.  What about resorts, hotels, offices and indoor venues.  They don't report to the CDC!

My neighbour went to a Weight Watcher meeting in Mesa, Arizona with a room full of people.  Only four people were wearing masks!   They don't ask for proof of vaccine in Arizona.  Everytime I watch US TV I see people inside without masks.  

Let's hope this very contagious virus gets under control!
