Vancouver Symphony Orchestra

Last night Carol and I went to our first concert since COVID!  The VSO was performing their Traditional Christmas Program at various smaller theatres across greater Vancouver.  We got tickets to the Bell Performing Art Center that is very close to where we live!

Everyone had to show their vaccine passport and identification at the door.  The seating was well spaced.  Two seats beside us were kept open, their were lots of empty seats throughout the theatre.  I met my Red Hat sister Margaret and she said she attends every year.

I took this picture before the performance started.  They asked we refrained from taking pictures when they are performing and I respected their wishes.

Karl Hirzer was the conductor, Christopher Gaze from Bard on the Beach fame was the host and Rachel Buttress was the soprano.  The music and stories were wonderful.  If you want to see this concert, it's being presented in New Westminster at the Massey Theatre, in West Vancouver at the Kay Meek Center and December 18 and 19 at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver.  A nice start to the holiday season.
