Land Line

I still have a land line.  I pay $10 a month for a basic phone with my internet/TV supplier.  The reason I still have one is because in 2001 on September 11th, cell phones were turned over to the emergency frequency and people in New York could not get a signal!  If we ever had a disaster here, the same would probably happen.

My land line phones were old and kept dropping calls so I purchased a new set.  I didn't research phones because they are only land lines.  At Costco there was only one to choose from, Panasonic, good name and five handsets so I picked it up.  It also has an answering machine.

When I took it out of the box, what a shock.  I can attach two cell phones to the handset base.  So, when my cell phone rings in the living room, I don't need to run to pick it up before it goes into voice mail, I can pick up the call on one of the five handsets!  The instruction book in English is 88 pages!  I can't believe what all this phone that wasn't expensive can do.

I need a new stove so I've been researching them. I see stoves come with blue tooth!  I haven't been to the appliance store but I wonder why you need blue tooth on a gas range.  Maybe I can turn it on from my cell phone.   I know I can cook a fish in my dishwasher and there are fridges with cameras so when you go to the store you can see if you need milk!  Who thinks of all this?

This technology is mind blowing!

So many things to celebrate today
