Thanksgiving at Cheryl's

It was the first Thanksgiving we had as a complete family since 2019!  COVID made it hard as one of our family is compromised and couldn't attend.  It was wonderful.  The best part was the kids, now teenagers.  We had a kids table years ago when they were young.  They came to the adult table a few years ago.  Usually, they eat, ask to be excused and leave.  This year they joined in on our conversation, caught us up with their busy lives and stayed at the table for two hours after we'd finished eating.  It was the BEST Thanksgiving ever.

It didn't end well.  I never like to be negative or post bad news but when we were ready to leave, we looked for Persephone (the sociable cat) to say goodbye.  She was nowhere to be found.  Dave went out the back door and saw her outside.  The inside cat that's never been outside snuck out probably when Cheryl was cooking the turkey.  The house was warm and she opened the back door a crack.  Persephone bolted when she saw Dave to the park they live beside.

We all went out with cat toys, shaking snacks and calling her.  They have coyotes in the neighbourhood that enjoy a cat dinner!  She didn't want to come in and everyone was worried about her.  At 6 AM she appeared in the yard  When approached she bolted into the park next door once more.

When she got hungry, she came in later in the morning.  Cheryl has no idea what's on her face but it isn't hurting her.

Cheryl says, she is never letting her out again.  I wonder how that's going to go?

My favorite Thanksgiving tweet from a famous American:
