Letters to Santa 2022

We've finished our letters to Santa for 2022.  We never received any mail from Taiwan.  I am guessing it's because the Canadian teachers that were in Taiwan have returned to Canada.  The volume of mail was down from other years and we didn't start until December 1st.  I'm glad we are done because of the snow storm!

I won the "greediest kid", with 36 "I want".  Our highest number of "I want" was 64 a few years ago.  Little kids ask for toys.  Older kids want an iPad, iPhone and expensive video games.  One letter said his only wish "was for my father to get well".  We didn't get any X-rated ones this year.  I got one in Braile, one in Spanish and a few in Mandarin.  They are forwarded to the main plant where they are given to people who answer in the same language and yes in Braile too.

I was very upset when I read this from Lynda Steele on Twitter.  As a journalist, she should check her facts as nowhere on the Canada Post website does it state Punjabi is not replied to:

Canada Post returns letters in 37 languages and Punjabi is included!  Did she even read the list?   Canada Post answered the tweet to correct her and the reply from Canada Post was reposted many times on Twitter.

Here is a letter I got from an older child.  Very few have a date.  How do you answer this one?

I hope you can read it.  Answered:  ALWAYS BELIEVE IN THE MAGIC OF CHRISTMAS

We get creative kids who make their own envelopes.  They are very hard to get into and when I did, he/she didn't send his name or address so we couldn't reply!

And then you pick up an envelope like this:

It makes it all worthwhile!
