Winter Solstice

Wednesday was the longest day of the year.  Yesterday sunset was 4:14 PM and sunset today is 4:16 PM in Vancouver.  The days will start getting longer every day.  Something nice to look forward to!

What we are looking forward to is hazardous winter weather conditions.  Yesterday the Province of BC asked everyone stay at home.  Do not travel unless you absolutely must.  The Vancouver International Airport has suspended all international flights.  WestJet, Canada's second largest airline, has suspended flights from midnight until mid afternoon.  People are stranded at the airport and it isn't getting much better.
 
Cheryl is cooking the turkey Christmas Eve.  I'm hoping we will get there.  Yesterday, I took over the turkey and all the Christmas presents in case we can't make it.
