They call it, "every kid's dream". One child per Vancouver Canucks NHL hockey game who must be a registered minor hockey player in BC with exceptional skating ability has the opportunity to lead the Vancouver Canucks at a home game.
Last night, my great nephew, Sam Newell, was the minor hockey player that lead the pre-anthem skate and took his place on the blue line, between his hockey idols for the singing of the national anthem.

Sam is 11 and loves hockey. I couldn't be happier for him. He was cheered on by mom. two grandfathers and Uncle Brad. Too bad the game didn't end well for the Canucks or the coach!
