Day 7 - Ensenada

The last time we were in Ensenada was 38 years ago!  It's really grown.  We planned to take Lexie for her first "legal" drink in Ensenada.  She told us the drinking age is 18 and a margarita in Mexico sounded good.  We started taking Lexie cruising when she was around 7 years old.  I've never had any "mom" rules until this cruise.  I received this text from Cheryl a few days ago:

We hadn't purchased a shore excursion because there wasn't anything that sounded interesting to us before we left.  We went out to the secure area at the port of Ensenada, took pictures of Lexie for her first trip to Mexico and came back on board.  I have been buying her a "drink" a day since that text as I don't want to disappoint her.  18 years is the legal drinking age in Mexico, 21 on the ship.  I order a margarita and a bellini and she enjoyed them.  So far no one has said anything but we are keeping it discreet.  And no, Cheryl doesn't have to pay me!

If anyone is disturbed by me buying Lexie drinks, we started giving Cheryl wine at dinner in a liqueur glass when she was 7 on special occasions when we had wine.  I believe you teach them to drink responsibly.  My parents did it and I turned out fine.  Cheryl has been responsible too, so I think it's a good thing.  Cheryl and Dave would never give Lexie alcohol until just recently.  They didn't like my theory!   Oh well.

It's certainly grown in 38 years!

I enjoy being on the ship when people are sightseeing.  It's quiet and there is still lots to do.  The movie today was "Everything Everywhere All at Once".   I'm surprised they have such up to date movies.  We don't always go to the movies but they are also available in your room on demand.  

The show in the theatre is Rock Opera!  We saw this last summer and it was one of my favorite cruise shows.  It didn't disappoint.

We have everything packed ready to go.  Our flight is at 12:15 and we should be home by 3:30!   Because of the earlier than normal flight we are taking the Princess transfer to LAX.  It's the easiest way to get to the airport.
