A walk in Green Timbers Urban Forest Park

Green Timbers is a 452 acre park in north Surrey.  It has wetlands, trails, meadows and a lovely lake.  The trails are wide and there is 10 KM of walking and biking trails.

Aeriel view of this gorgeous park

We have never been there before but Cec read they stocked the lake with rainbow trout.  The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC will hold a hands-on program on July 12th for children 5 to 15.  They will teach them about fish habitat, conservation and time to try out fishing!  They are providing the equipment.  To register go to:  https://www.gofishbc.com/Events.aspx

There is a pier that is accessible for wheel chairs so disabled people can fish!   You are allowed two trout a day and must have a valid BC Fishing license.  What a beautiful place in the middle of a city!

We saw many ducks and ducklings.  They weren't afraid of people.
Along with ducks, there are bald eagles, salamanders, woodpeckers and Douglas squirrels.  There was even an area with beavers!

A lovely walk on a lovely day!
