Hello Miami!

Thank you Air Canada!  We arrived in Miami yesterday from Vancouver on a direct flight in 5 hours 17 minutes!  No stops, no change of planes.  Finally a three times a week direct flight from Vancouver to Miami.  We've done this route for years, through Seattle, Los Angeles Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth and the worst experience through Toronto!

We had to get up at 3:30 AM.  We drove our car to Park 'N Fly and arrived at the airport in plenty of time.  Security was a breeze and there was no one ahead of us at US Customs using the Nexus line.  There was a long line at Tim Horton's but well worth the wait.

When we arrived in Miami it was 29C and sunny!  We rented a SUV at Budget.  When we got there they were out of SUV's (or it was a wait), would we take a mini-van?  We were given a Chrysler Pacifica hybrid!  It's a beautiful car and easy to get the luggage in.  Gas in Miami is US$2.86 at Costco which is much cheaper than US$4.15 in Bellingham!

We are staying in Pembrook Pines in a Marriott!  The hotel is lovely and our room is large.  It has 2 TV's and a nice desk.  The staff were excellent pointing us to Outback Steakhouse where we enjoyed a lovely evening meal last night.

Off to explore and shop at Sawgrass Mills.  It's a premium outlet mall and the 11th largest mall in the US.  Lots of wonderful stores and it has a Cheesecake Factory where we plan to have lunch.  Weather today:  31C and sunny!
