The Vancouver Canucks played the Edmonton Oilers to advance to the Stanley Cup. I heard from a passenger on the Majestic Princess the game was being telecast in the bar. The ship left Vancouver yesterday and spent today in Victoria. It's just a short four day cruise. There were so many hockey fans on board, they played the game on Movies Under the Stars!
The game was tied at the end of the third period and it went into overtime. Edmonton scored and the series is tied 1 - 1.
I've never seen the northern lights. I have the Aurora app on my phone and I check every night when we cruise north. Tonight, I heard they were visible at Crescent Beach. So at 10:30PM, I got in my car and drove to the beach. There were lots of cars, so instead of trying to park in the lot at Blackie Spit, I stopped on Sullivan and McBride and walked down. I know the area well. It was very busy!
What these pictures don't show, is a crown effect on the top of the sky. It was magnificent. They had just started to appear. It's difficult to capture the beauty as it's all around you! It was 11:15 and I went home. I got these from my home at 11:45PM:
I'm certain if I stayed out longer, the pictures would be even brighter, but I have to get up at 6:30 AM, to give a cat medicine. That's another story!
