In the early 1950's my mom and I would ride the tram from Central Park to downtown Vancouver. A group of volunteers, refurbished the trams and they have rides throughout the summer from Cloverdale to Sullivan Station in Surrey. We've done the summer rides and they are a lot of fun. This year, the Fraser Valley Rail Heritage Society had a special Santa Train Ride. My cousins Stephen and Laurie Dalziel lived on Cecil Street in Vancouver. Stephen told me they got the tram at Joyce street in East Vancouver. They still get together with "The Cecil Street Gang" for lunches. Stephen (AKA Gumboot") sent me an email and asked if I wanted to join them at the Santa Ride.
The trip started at the train station where they sang Christmas Carols. Then we boarded our tram and went into barn where it was all decorated! The volunteers at the Cloverdale Train Station did an awesome job of the decorations!
