I have never loved gardening. I admire people who work hard in the spring to have gorgeous flowers. We have gardeners because we live in a development that hires them. It works well for us. Four years ago we were going away for a few weeks in the summer and I worried about my potted plants. They would need lots of water and I didn't want to bother my neighbours. I went to the dollar store and purchased artificial flowers. They were cheap but looked okay.
Fast forward four years and they look as good today as the day I purchased them! The sun didn't fade them and the bugs haven't eaten them. I just arranged my "porch flowers" once again. I have no idea if my neighbours know they are fake but they look great! They are colourful and I enjoy "planting" them every year. I will put them away in the fall and get another year out of them!
