There are a lot of volunteers with great knowledge of the cats. The shelter houses over 400 cats, however, lots are feral and don't like people so they hide. They have a lot of rules for the safety and well being of both cats and visitors. We estimated we saw between 50 and 75 cats.
Rules:
No children under 6
Children under 13 must be supervised by an adult
Maximum two children per adult
Absolutely no admission to cordoned off areas (they are well marked)
Do not feed the cats
Move slowly around the cats
Be gentle and respectful at all times
Speak quietly, no shouting or raised voices
No flash photography
They asked we didn't stay any longer than 60 minutes
They ask for at least a $5 donation per person or $20 per family. This helps with food and supplies. Parking is extremely limited. We parked on No. 6 road and got there early. It was raining and I would think parking on a sunny day would be a problem.
