The Vancouver Province yesterday had an interesting article on rum running. My mom told me my paternal grandfather was a rum runner. When I did my genealogy I found his border crossings from Steveston to San Francisco.
My grandfather didn't make a fortune doing this but he did own a confectionery store in South Vancouver during the depression so this probably helped financially.
I will watch for this book as it looks like a good one! It's not in the Surrey Library yet.
