World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is observed on the 10th of October every year, with the overall objective of raising awareness of mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.  The Day provides an opportunity for all stakeholders working on mental health issues to talk about their work, and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide.

I see posts on Facebook that say "my home is open, just come over anytime". I know people with mental health will NOT reach out. You have to be proactive.

There are a lot of programs getting people to talk about mental health. However, most depressed people do not want to talk. If you know of any male who needs help, there is help online. They don't need to discuss it with anyone. They have an online self check men can do in the privacy of their home. They advise you how to proceed. There is also a very good area for family and friends to answer questions and give you advice on how to handle the delicate situation. Providing support for a man with depression requires a great deal of empathy, understanding, and encouragement.

Heads Up Guys is an online resource for supporting men in their fight against depression by providing tips, tools, information about professional services, and stories of success.  Please pass on this website to anyone world wide!
