Great to see Mike Myers wearing his Order of Canada at the Golden Globes

Last night we watched the Golden Globes.  Andy Samberg and Sandra Oh were the hosts.  I didn't enjoy the opening and thought it was a little cheesy.  It wasn't their fault, the writers didn't give them good material.  We always record every award show and I was glad we recorded this one so we could zip through long speeches and commercials.

I knew the Golden Globes were voted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association but didn't know there are only 93 members who vote.  I love the fact it's in a hotel ballroom and they all pretend to eat.  They don't pretend to drink as was evident by some of the presenters last night.  They looked pretty crowded in that room.  It's telecast to 167 countries around the world.

Before any awards show, the Red Carpet with Joan Rivers was a delight to watch.  Joan brought comedy to the red carpet.  Her comments were usually spot on and funny.  Now they "gush" over the stars and it's not the entertainment it was before.

It looks like we have lots of movies to watch as we really don't go to the theatre that much.  I've heard from three friends how good Bohemian Rhapsody was.  That's at the top of my list.   We subscribe to the TV movie channels and enjoy watching movies at home.  However, some movies need to be seen on the big screen with Dolby sound.

Now to wait until February 24th to watch the Oscars!
