Valentine's Day

Cec and I never celebrate Valentine's Day.  We celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.  This year on my birthday I was ill.  He's still upset he didn't take me out for a nice meal.  Today, we had my birthday lunch.  Elisabeth's Chalet is a European cuisine restaurant in Cloverdale.  It's been operating for over 30 years.  The original owners retired and thankfully the new owners never changed a thing.

Inside, the restaurant has Bavarian woodwork, nice table cloths and very friendly staff.  It's one of our favorite restaurants.   This is the lunch portion, and if you go for lunch, you don't need to eat dinner.

Our snowy weather continues.  Today we had a brief relief and I was very glad to go out.  I do not go out when there is ice and or snow.  Sixteen years ago I had a double knee replacement.  When I was discharged from the hospital the orthopedic surgeon told me if I ever broke my legs, there was so much bone loss they would probably not be able to repair it!  So, when it snows, I stay in.

Today was a pleasure to get out for a wonderful lunch.   With the prediction of snowfall, it looks like I'll be inside for a few days.  On Wednesday, I missed a Red Hat lunch.  The lunch was at one of the members who lives in a high rise on a hill in New Westminster.  I'm so sorry I couldn't go.
