Santa letters for 2019

Yesterday was our last day to answer letters.  We got blasted on Monday morning with a lot of last minute mail.  We still receive a lot of letters without a return address.  Many don't have a city or postal code and thanks to the Canada Post retirees we find a lot of them.  It takes a lot of time but we don't want to disappoint any child.  We'll find out our numbers in the New Year but I'm guessing we are way up from our best year, 1.8 million.  I answered letters from Canada, Japan, Australia, Malaysia, Taiwan, and USA.

This is the first year we've never had any Canada Post employees come to help us.  In former years they would help in their lunch hour and take them home.  They are so busy delivering parcels we didn't see any of them.  I understand they are working a lot of overtime.  We had six dedicated volunteers.  Donna and I were the only volunteers that didn't work for Canada Post.  The others are retirees.  They all worked hard, taking them home most nights after writing them during the day.  At this time of year everyone is busy and they rearrange their time to make the lives of children happy.

I picked out two letters this year.  The first one is from Canada and the second one is from Russia.
I love the fact he wants carrots for his rabbit.  That was a first

This is the first letter we've seen from Russia!
