We are using buses more than ever before.  Not only because it's the "green" thing to do, but we actually enjoy riding the bus.

On Saturday we went to the airport to update our Nexus facial recognition.  Because it was a Saturday our fare was $1.95.   Because our time at the airport was so short, we weren't charged the $5.00 airport add on fee, but $1.95 was all we paid as our round trip was within the 90 minutes.

On Sunday we went to visit Cec's cousins who are both in Surrey Hospital.  We needed exercise and it was a gorgeous sunny day.  We took the bus that runs by our house with one change and went to the hospital.  On our way home, we took the R1 that runs along King George Blvd. to Guildford Mall.  It was an express bus with only seven stops.  All the buses we rode on are all new!  They are quiet, comfortable and the drivers now have shields to protect them from violent passengers!  All the bus drivers are pleasant.

This information station is at every R1 bus stop!  There is an audio button if you can't read it!
I just checked our Compass Card usage and it was $1.95 both ways.  Considering what the price of gas is, it was cheaper than taking our car.  Parking at hospitals is expensive!  Next week we get the shock of what our car insurance renewal will be.  We are accident free and don't drive many miles.  My cousin and his wife sold their car.  They take the bus when they can and if they need a car, they rent one!  What a great idea.  They said they worked it out and it's cheaper!
