A message from the Surrey RCMP

In our ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we wanted to share some additional questions you may be asked when making a police report. The safety of the community and our front line officers is of utmost importance to us so please be aware that if you make a report that requires police attendance, you will be asked the following:
  • if there is anyone at the location who is sick or experiencing flu like symptoms,
  • if you or anyone at your location has recently travelled internationally or self-isolated,
  • if you have been diagnosed, or have had close contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19.
Police will still attend all calls as required, but this information will ensure that they are prepared with the appropriate personal protective equipment before attending a location. Thank you for your assistance and understanding to help stop the spread of this virus.

Just a reminder that you can also use our online reporting tool to make reports that do not require follow up from a police officer, and if there are no witnesses or suspects. Use this tool if:
  • you have lost something with a value less than $5000,
  • someone has stolen something from you with a value less than $5000,
  • someone has vandalized your property or vehicle and the cost to repair it will be less than $5000,
  • the crime happened in Surrey, BC
