Sammy's 9th Birthday

When you are 9, birthdays are a big event.  This year many children have had no birthday parties or even seen friends.  Sam was sad as Catherine is being very careful and not allowing any friends to come over.  She is home schooling both Jack and Sam.  It's not easy being a single parent.

Last year we celebrated Sammy's 8th Birthday on the Emerald Princess:
A donut cake!
This year with the "keep a safe distance" in mind, Catherine sent an Evite asking anyone who wanted to to join a car parade past her house at 11 AM on Monday, April 13th.   It was to be a surprise.  She sneaked out early in the day and made the signs.  I don't know how many cars there were because we were driving but there was a long line.  Everyone cheered, honked and waved.  We went around the block four times.
There were neighbours cheering, waving and clapping on the opposite side of the street

Here are some of the cars.  Catherine took these pictures.  I've taken off the faces as I don't have permission to post their pictures.
This car was in front of me.  They put on the hazard lights and I got out to take pictures.
This is Sam's teacher!   She brought her children too.

It's a good thing they live on a quiet street!  It will be a birthday he will always remember.
Happy Birthday Sam Newell!

It's time for Aunty Acid
