Yesterday was the hottest day of the year, so far.  Janice found out they were doing work in their parking area and we would not be able to park in visitor parking.  They live in an apartment UBC and street parking is sometimes difficult to find.  Janice tried to make reservations at the BierCraft at UBC but reservations anywhere during COVID are difficult and not being guaranteed so Donna graciously offered her home.

We pre-ordered White Spot (great choice) and Donna and I picked it up.  It was only three blocks from Donna's home.

After our delicious lunch Janice gave us "goodie bags".

I apologize this is sideways, but when I crop it, I lose some of it.
This book is pure joy.  It's full of cat paintings and captions of what the cats are thinking.  The paintings are beautifully done by Jane Seabrook of Auckland, New Zealand.  If you want to see information on this book or one of her books:  www.furrylogicbooks.com    Great for cat lovers!

This nice card has a painting of The White Lunch.  It was a renowned restaurant in Vancouver that opened in 1913.  The story of the White Lunch is below and anyone who knew Vancouver would recognize this eating spot.  I apologize for the sideways photo but if I rotate it, I lose some of the wonderful artwork by Keith McKellar!
This is the back of the card:
Janice gave both Donna and I post cards from Europe with Canadian stamps so we could send these and tell everyone we were on vacation in the Mediterranean!  I'm trying to figure out who I'll send them too.  What a hoot!
She also gave us Scratch and Wins, but we didn't win anything.

It was a wonderful afternoon with great friends!   Thank you Janice, Jim and Donna!
