I enjoy reading other blogs. The blog below pretty much sums up my thoughts on the upcoming provincial election. I respect everyone's view and like to read what others think and why they are supporting another political party. One nice thing about Canada is if you don't agree you respect each other's views. I don't know who I will vote for because I don't have a list of candidates in Surrey-Panorama but I know who I am not voting for.
Wednesday while driving out of Panorama Village and I saw a white tour bus. Knowing the cruise ships aren't in town I figured it was a political delegation. The bus was unmarked. I saw who I thought was John Horgan and a lot of other people by the Karate studio. They were all wearing masks so I couldn't tell from the car in the rain who was there. John Horgan had his back to me and I thought I recognized the back of his head. I normally would have stopped but it was raining very heavy and I am afraid of what I would say so it was better I just drove off. They were featured on the evening news so it was John Horgan.
Jinny Sims, NDP is our MLA in Surrey-Panorama. She was investigated and cleared for criminal wrongdoing in 2019 by the RCMP. Jinny was the President of the BC Teachers Association from 2004 - 2007. While I never worked in the educational system, I watched her and as I leader she appeared to do a good job.
I've sent Jinny three emails regarding the police transitioning from RCMP to our city police force. She has never had the respect to even answer me. My emails are professional and all I ask is the citizens of Surrey have their say with a city-wide referendum. Only 41% of the residents voted for the current mayor. He did not get a majority as the vote was split between three candidates. 50,000 people have signed a petition asking for a referendum. It was delivered to the offices of the Premier and to date they have ignored us. Yesterday at the news conference he said the police transition is a "hornets nest" and McCallum's problem. No, Mr. Premier, you are in charge of municipal policing and your Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Mike Farnworth is ignoring 50,000 residents. A referendum is the "democratic" way to handle this. You are going to lose seats in Surrey over this!
I enjoyed and agree with this blog:
