I will remember yesterday

Yesterday, I picked up Lexie from her morning class and we had a great conversation about her social studies class.  They are studying World War I, the great depression and World War II.  She watched the movie 1917 in school!  She was disturbed at the horrors of war.  They've moved past the great depression and are now studying the 1930's.  We talked about Hitler's rise of power.  It was a great discussion and as the trip home takes only 10 minutes, we will continue tomorrow.

I got home just after 11 AM and put on the TV.  We watched in horror as the demonstrators forced their way into the Capitol building.  I believe in legal protests, but this was a coup directed by the President of the US.  I've followed Donald Trump on Twitter.  His tweets supported, incited, encouraged and directed this coup.  Thankfully, it failed.  

Vice President Pence and Mitch McConnell should be commended for their patriotism.  I hope the Republican Party can heal as they are so divided.
