Yesterday at 7:15 AM our power went out. It was only a minute so I changed all the clocks. At 8:12 AM it went out again. When it didn't come back on in a few minutes, I checked the BC Hydro outage and it showed "pole down", crews at the site, ETA of fix 1:00PM. I was glad I'd had breakfast and a shower!
It wasn't raining so we went for a walk. I picked up Lexie at 10:50 and had a mammogram at Peace Arch Hospital at 11:30. Well timed and parking is free at the hospital. However, all the spots were gone so I parked on the street and got more steps on my Fitbit. The mammogram clinic was closed for three months because of COVID. They are taking appointments for April! I was the only person in the clinic. Again, even though it's in a hospital, it felt safe. I love Peace Arch as the clinic is in the Berkley Pavilion. It's a separate one story building and the clinic about 20 feet inside the entrance!
We went for lunch at a nice local restaurant. At 1 o'clock the BC Hydro outage site changed to restore ETA 4:00 PM! We went home and the house was cold. Decided to walk a mall. The best mall to walk is Tsawwassen Springs. We didn't need to buy anything but there is a Cabalas there so Cec is always happy to look at "guy" things. The mall walkway is very wide. There are are directional arrows on the walkway and it's a mall I feel safe walking in. We didn't go in any other stores than Cabalas as it is an entrance to the mall. We did see a 50% off 3 foot chocolate Santa Claus at the Purdy's store. The lady said if no one buys it, they will melt it and make an Easter Bunny!
No CNN and there is so much going on. No internet, lights, heat or home phone. We are so dependant on power!
Now to get caught up on all the email jokes, new you tube's, everything on my PVR and current affairs. Good thing I'll stay home and get 'er done!
The positive note: my Fitbit hit an all time steps high!
And the funniest news yesterday:
A Quebec couple are in the dog house after trying to skirt the current COVID-19 curfews in that province amid a surge in daily cases and deaths.
According to CTV News, Sherbrooke police came across a woman and her husband out for a walk near the downtown area past the 8 p.m. curfew. The man was wearing a leash around his neck.
When questioned by officers, the woman said she was out walking her dog as officials have said people are allowed to walk their dogs after curfew.
The couple received $3,000 in fines.
Effective this past weekend until at least Feb. 8, Quebecers will be under a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Anyone caught breaking the rules is liable to a fine between $1,000 and $6,000.
