We had a fierce wind storm last night. I went to bed and could hear it and always hope the trees in back yard are okay. We've lost two before and luckily they didn't hit the house. As they grow, we worry but the arborist checks them every year.
My wonderful husband woke me up to let me know the power was out. He said "don't worry, here is the lantern"! Of course it was turned on and shined in my eyes. Well, there went my sleep.
There were over 100,000 houses in the lower mainland without power. Our outage was huge. It went from 64th to 20th and 152 to 192. Cheryl was without power too. BC Hydro arrived at 3:35 AM. It was restored at 6:40 AM and time to get up, make coffee and go to Seniors shopping time at Costco.
We are fortunate it was fixed so quickly. It's also good you can check the website on your phone and know what's going on.
The nice thing about being retired is I don't have to work all day without sleep. Maybe I can sleep later!
