Guns in America

In 2013, Cec and I went on a Caribbean cruise.  They still had early and late dining and you ate with the same people every night.  I miss that type of dining, as we met some lovely people and we are still communicating.

Two ladies that we sat with were from Connecticut.  They lived in Newtown where a 20 year old walked into a school killing 20 six and seven year olds and 6 teachers.  They knew families that lost their children in that shooting.  The bodies of the children were so badly damaged, most had to be identified with DNA!  What those families went through was horrendous.  They will never get over losing a child and such a senseless way.  It devestated the entire community.

Every school shooting after that horrific one, I think of those ladies and all the families that lost loved ones to violence.  Unless the American's ban assault weapons of war, this will never stop.  These guns don't just kill, they blow a body apart.  No hunter uses a assault weapon to hunt.  Why does the government allow the sale and legal possession of these weapons to anyone who wants one?

I just read this from a blog:

"Perhaps now is the time for all patriotic Americans who own assault weapons to donate them to Ukrainian soldiers"

I'm not American.  I don't understand why people need assault weapons in their homes. THIS NEEDS TO STOP!
