Day 3 - Icy Strait Point

On Monday night a passenger needed medical attention and our cruise was rerouted to Prince Rupert.  They took him off and the doctor and we waited until the doctor came back.  It was at least four hours delay.

This is from my Vessel Tracker app!  The captain made up some of the time and we arrived at Icy Strait at 3:10 PM!  We had a very rocky ride, one of the roughest we've had in Alaska.  This ship is huge so it was pretty rough.  We were fine, but many others were sea sick!  As soon as we went back into the inside passage in the mid-morning it calmed right down,  We've seen quite a few whales from the ship.  The weather is better than expected.  It's not raining but cool enough to put on a sweat shirt and long pants to go outside.  

Docked: 1:30PM to 10:00PM   That was proposed, actual 3:10 to 10:00 PM, lots of time in port

3. Beach Combing: The beach at Icy Strait Point is a great spot for beachcombing and exploring the local tide pools. 

4. Spasski River Valley Trail: The Spasski River Valley Trail is a free hiking trail that offers scenic views of the Alaskan wilderness. 

5. Wildlife Viewing: Icy Strait Point is home to a variety of wildlife, including brown bears, whales, and eagles. You can take a self-guided tour and spot these animals in their natural habitat.
