First Day at Sea

We woke up to a lovely day again!  The sun was shining.  We lost another hour as we are now on Halifax time.  The internet speed is good.  I have no problems downloading pictures or posting on this blog.

I got many messages from friends and neighbours regarding the flooding in Vancouver.  Our home is fine however, we couldn't drive north or south on 152 as it's closed in both directions due to flooding.

We slept in yesterday and missed breakfast.  That made us happy as we are now caught up on our lost sleep.  The beds are comfortable and the room is quiet.  Lots of activities all day.  We played a couple of games of trivia and heard some wonderful music.

Three weeks ago Cheryl and I both got an invitation to go back to Let's Make A Deal.  I was on this cruise so Cheryl went to Los Angeles with two girls from work.  I got a phone call when we were watching the Yes or No game from Cheryl.  I quickly went to a quiet spot to find out.  She was chosen once again and won a nice prize!  It will be broadcast on May 15th, I believe.  I will post on this blog when it's broadcast.

It was formal night and dinner was delicious.  Cec had Beef Tenderloin and I had duck.  The starter crab cake was wonderful.  We missed the first production show as dinner was quite slow.  We went to the late show as it never matters to us.  We are night owls on this cruise.

The second show was a complete sell out!  We got there early and got great seats.  It was a magic musical.  Lots of magic and lots of wonderful singing and dancing.  The singers are very good and it was a great show to watch.

People often ask me how formal is formal night.  On this cruise it's a joke.  I would say maybe 30% of men wore a jacket.  Some had on shirts and ties, no jacket and others wore golf or t-shirts.  People are ignoring formal night.  I wish they would change it to smart casual every day.  I wore a sparkly top and fancy slacks.  Cec wore a jacket.  I don't care what others wear but I wish I hadn't brought such fancy clothes!

After the show, we went back to see the comedian.  He's from Canada!  His brother owns a bar in Newfoundland called the Frozen Beaver.  I don't know that was a joke or for real but it was funny.  The show last night was the "adult" show.  Tonight it was the family show and both were very good,  His name is Doug Funk and his comedy is down to earth, not vulgar and very funny.  He just got off the Island Princess and is one of Princess Cruises best comedians.

We stayed up last night until 2 AM to watch the BC Election.  Rogers Ignite TV blocked us from watching.  We are in Canadian waters but the IP address probably shows an international signal.  However, Global BC website showed the election results live!  I had lots of friends sending me What's App messages so I was able to keep up to date on what the results were.  What an exciting election.  I'm glad I voted in the Advance Poll.

It's time for Aunty Acid
