Prince Harry

I've written earlier on this blog about my dislike when Prince Harry published his book "Spare" and his television appearances with Oprah Winfrey.  I felt they were family issues that shouldn't be shared with the world.

From his two deployments in Afghanistan and his many trips abroad representing Queen Elizabeth, I commend Prince Harry.  He's been involved with many charities and done a lot of charity work.  He is a wonderful person with a huge heart.

I was thrilled when he was engaged to Meghan Markle and I hope their marriage is happy.  I understand him wanting to step away from royal life.  When Harry and Meghan moved to Victoria, I was happy he chose Canada.   When he went to the US, I hoped he found peace and people left him alone.

Prince Harry's work with Invictus Games dates back to 2014 and his dedication to soldiers around the world is amazing.  We are so fortunate to have these games in Vancouver this year.  I watched the opening ceremonies on television and really enjoyed them.

Since coming to Vancouver, Harry and Meghan have visited many facilities and met with many children.  On Saturday, they stopped and spoke with Wyatt Hutchinson.  My long time friend Alix tells me this her cousin's grandson!   What an awesome experience for a 10 year old boy!

Meghan, 43, and Harry, 40, paused to chat with 10-year-old Wyatt Hutchison, who was sitting with his parents, Lindsay and Zach Hutchison, in the stands.

"It was amazing," Lindsay tells PEOPLE at the event. "Wyatt plays wheelchair basketball, so to see the entire disability community come out and enjoy was just wonderful representation. It means a lot."

Wyatt, who described Harry and Meghan as "nice" and shared that they talked about sports, particularly hockey and basketball, called out to Prince Harry "as loud as he could," according to his mom. In return, Harry asked Wyatt what his favorite sport was.

"Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," Lindsay adds. "He's a little starstruck!"
