Yesterday, I was invited to a ship tour and lunch on the Seabourn Quest. It's the smallest ship I've ever been on. It's a six star cruise line that gets excellent reviews. The ship is 32,000 gross tons and has 225 suites. If you are a single traveller the fare isn't the 100% penalty the other ships charge, but 25% only for being a single passenger in a double occupancy cabin. The hull is ice-rated so it can travel to the Arctic and Antarctica. The Quest has zodiac and immersive vehicles you can explore with their team.
Seabourn has full expedition cruise ships. They are PC6 ice-strengthened hulls with advanced maneuvering technology for superior stability, safety and comfort. They have 23 people in their Expedition Team that offer curated shore excursions, cultural tours, guided Zodiac cruises, hikes, nature walks and snorkeling. The expedition ships offer 30,000 square feet of open deck space for optimal wildlife and nature viewing. They sail the Arctic in our summer and the Antarctic in our winter.
Here is a picture of the smallest cabin on the Quest. There is only one corridor. All the cabins are balconies and suites. This cabin has a walk in closet and a huge bathroom.
I took a lot of pictures of the suites, but my pictures do not do them justice. If you are interested, you need to see the pictures they have on their website. The suites are some of the most elegant I've ever seen.

I checked Alaska for 2026. Look at the different ports they go to:
In 2026 they are offering 7 - 15 day cruises to Alaska from Vancouver. The one above is 14 days. Your cruise fare is all-inclusive. It covers premium spirits, wi-fi, all dining and gratuities. They also give you a jacket and the weight depends on the weather you will have on your cruise.
In 1980 when I first sailed to Alaska, we did the true inside passage. This ship does the true inside passage on the return journey. No other cruise ship from Vancouver does this route! You can also get the true inside passage by taking a BC Ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert. It's not a cruise ship with the same experience but the scenery is amazing.
In 2026, the Seabourn Encore will be sailing Alaska. She's 26% bigger than the Quest, but still only has 604 passengers. Small ship cruising and the same luxury on a little larger ship.

| This was the cold buffet that included, shrimp, prawns and lobster among other wonderful salads |
This is the dessert buffet. There was two more stations, one with hot entrees. Lunch was delicious!
A Seabourn cruise offers a luxurious, all-inclusive experience with a focus on personalized service, intimate ships, and unique destinations. Their small ship intimacy, high staff-to guest ratio with access to smaller, more exclusive ports makes the experience wonderful.
