Day 5 - At Sea

A towel animal with a fish in his mouth.  He keeps moving around our cabin every day!

Last night we went to bed at 11 PM, which is early for us.  We just turned off the lights and the ship vibrated like we've never experienced before.  It's our 28th Princess Cruise.  We've also sailed on many other cruise lines.

We are located on deck 10, three cabins away from the aft.  I like it aft because it's so quiet but we know the engines are below us.  My husband said it's either an engine or propeller problem.  This ship doesn't have Azipods as it's older.

Our room shook so much, it was frightening!  I looked out the balcony and we were still moving, so that was a good thing.  The captain never made an announcement but it was late.  I got dressed and went to Guest Services.  I met many people on the way so I wasn't the only concerned person.  The nice agent at Guest Services had no information, but he took our cabin number.  He had a few cabin numbers and his phone was continually ringing.

I went back to our cabin and it was still just as severe.  They whole room was shaking.  30 minutes later I called guest services because there was no way we could sleep.  A lady answered and said “it’s the wind”.  I laughed and hung up!  Sometime after 1 AM, it slowly went away.  I knew they shut down an engine.

In the morning Guest services told me it’s an engine problem.  They are working on it and it won’t affect our arrival time in Honolulu.  Great to hear.  These things happen.

We went to lunch in the dining room.  They seated us at a table of 10.  Everyone was from British Columbia at our table!   A retired RCMP officer from Surrey, but he moved to Langley.  A retired letter carrier from Surrey!   We've been at many Heritage Club events and a Cunard Cruise at the same time.  Two lovely people from Kamloops and another couple from Harrison Mills.  Progressive Trivia was enjoyable and we are doing better.

The first show was performed by the Production Group.  Disco - Blame it on the Boogie!  The energy was wonderful.  Great music, great choreography and a wonderful show.  Princess offers two shows some nights!  We saw the Vocal Impressionist Jason Neistad.  His show was so good, we went to his second show.  His humour, juggling and impressions were so well done  A great way to end a wonderful day at sea!

Immigration Canada and the Criminal Code of Canada

I often wonder about our Immigration system and the Criminal Code of Canada.  Criminals keep finding ways to circumvent the system.  I heard...
