I asked AI what the most dangerous city in Canada is and to no surprise, it's the one I live in. Friday night at 12:38 AM I wasn't able to sleep so I was watching a program quietly on TV. I heard bout 20 loud bangs. It woke my husband up. My next door neighbour and I were petrified! No sirens came so it was probably fireworks. Weird, only 20 bangs, no more? Fireworks usually continue on longer. We've had gun fire, four houses away a few years ago. They hit two men but didn't kill them. In the last few months there have been 98 reported extorsions, 47 business/or homes have been shot at and people have died! It's terrifying!
The CBC had a town hall meeting on Thursday at the Surrey Arts Center. The panel included the Mayor, the BC Public Safety Minister, BC RCMP Assistant Commissioner and Police Chief Norm Lipinski.
Surrey has two police departments. We need 220 more Surrey Police Officers. The RCMP are filling in for the missing officers. Why did we ever change? It's costing us $235.4 million over 5 years and we are the most dangerous city in Canada!
Maybe our Chief of Police had a long day, but he looks like he's sleeping!
