I must admit, sometimes I need to google these as I have no idea what they mean.

Jean Burton

Jean Burton is my second cousin on my dad's side.  Yesterday she turned 75 in Romford, UK.  When she was 7, she immigrated to Canada.  They returned to the UK after six months as her mom was so home sick.  They always regretted not staying.  I didn't reconnect with Jean for over 50 years.  We each had a family and were busy.  She came over for a visit with her late husband 20 years ago.  We became good friends.  She came to Canada and stayed with me and I visited her in Britain many times.  She was my "date" at Buckingham Palace.  If you don't know the story, it's the very first post on this blog, June 2017.

Four years ago when we went on a cruise together, I noticed a huge difference in her demeanor.  She was a nurse in the local hospital.  She was always kind and considerate.  When you see someone's personality change, you know there is something wrong.  She was diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).  It is a horrible disease and there is no cure.  I can't phone her anymore as she can't talk.  Her mind is 100%.

Here is a picture with her only child, Darren, who is taking good care of his mom.  For her birthdays he would take her to a performance in the West End.  I don't remember when this picture was taken but it's good to see her looking well.  She's not doing well at all right now.  Happy Birthday, Jean.

Start the New Year off right and come on down to The Price is Right for the chance to win big!

Tickets available for 2/5/24-2/28/24
All new studio!
Get tickets now!
If you are going to Los Angeles and would like to have an awesome experience, here is the link to get tickets:

If you see another link for tickets that costs money, it's not the real TV show.  The TV show is taped in Glendale, California.   If you want to go this spring, or next fall, this is the link for tickets.  Get Priority tickets as you are guaranteed to get in.  A lot of people show up and not everyone is admitted.  There are only 135 seats in the studio.   They are taping through April and will resume again in the fall for both daytime and night time shows.

If you go and want some "tips", call or email me lfisher385@gmail.com.  It's a wonderful experience and you meet some fun people.   Drew and George are very personable.  They interact with the crowd during the breaks for commercials.  Someone in an earlier show asked Drew how he lost all his weight.  His answer: "I stopped smoking marijuana.  The munchies were the problem"!   George drove by the line waiting to get into the studio in a 1954 yellow Studebaker convertible.  They already had my phone or I would have a great picture.  He waved as he slowly drove by the line!

Let's Make a Deal tapes in the same studio.  There are lot of other shows all around LA that you can get tickets to.  Search On-Camera Audiences and you will find out how to obtain  tickets to other shows.  Good Luck!

How time flies

Barely the day started and... it's already six in the evening.

Barely arrived on Monday and it's already Friday.

... and the month is already over.
... and the year is almost over.
... and already 40, 50 or 60 years of our lives have passed.
... and we realize that we lost our parents, friends.
and we realize it's too late to go back...
So... Let's try, despite everything, to enjoy the remaining time...
Let's keep looking for activities that we like...
Let's put some color in our grey...
Let's smile at the little things in life that put balm in our hearts.
And despite everything, we must continue to enjoy with serenity this time we have left. Let's try to eliminate the afters...
I'm doing it after...
I'll say after...
I'll think about it after...
We leave everything for later like ′′ after ′′ is ours.
Because what we don't understand is that:
Afterwards, the coffee gets cold...
afterwards, priorities change...
Afterwards, the charm is broken...
afterwards, health passes...
Afterwards, the kids grow up...
Afterwards parents get old...
Afterwards, promises are forgotten...
afterwards, the day becomes the night...
afterwards life ends...
And then it's often too late....
So... Let's leave nothing for later...
Because still waiting see you later, we can lose the best moments,
the best experiences,
best friends,
the best family...
The day is today... The moment is now...
We are no longer at the age where we can afford to postpone what needs to be done right away.
