I've been following this story since they started dating. I am pleased the Royal Family is accepting Meghan. I was surprised as she's American, Catholic, divorced and bi-racial! I am happy they are letting him marry the girl he loves. Edward VIII, Princess Margaret and Prince Charles were all denied marrying the ones they wanted and history pretty well sums up how that went. Meghan's charity work is amazing and to me she seems like a genuine person. I watched the Lifetime movie "Harry and Meghan" on the weekend and enjoyed it. I would love to go to Windsor and I did think about it, however, I've been to Windsor and it's pretty quaint. I can just imagine how crowded it will be. The Canadian Monarchist Society has organized a group going over to Windsor. I checked into the group and they are leaving from Toronto. I didn't look into it any further.
When Princess Anne got married the first time, I set my alarm and watched it. Again, when Prince Charles and Diana got married Cheryl and I both got up. She was 7 at the time and really enjoyed it. A few years later, Cheryl found the video at the rental store and we watched it again. When Prince Andrew and Fergie got married, again, Cheryl and I set the alarm and watched another Royal Wedding! Something is magical about a royal marriage. They all got married on Wednesdays!
When Prince William married Kate, I had a breakfast party. My sister Louise, Cheryl, Lexie and I all watched the wedding. I can't remember when they came over but it was very early! We all wore hats! I got out the good china and we really enjoyed it.
I am not getting up for this one. The coverage starts at 1 AM, which is pretty much when I go to bed now. They marry at four o'clock Vancouver time. By the time they leave the church and go to the reception it will be about 5:30. This weekend, I've got a lot of things planned. We are going to the Vancouver Symphony on Saturday night at 8:00 PM and if I stay up Friday night, I'll sleep through the symphony. I'll set the PVR and watch it when I have my breakfast with any luck will be about 9 AM.
I just got off the phone with my cousin Jean in Romford who said the BBC is reporting Prince Charles will walk Meghan down the aisle!
One more sleep, let's remember
