Every year Cheryl cooks a fantastic Christmas dinner at her home and invites the entire family. Yesterday Dr. Bonnie Henry said the restriction on social gatherings will continue to January 8th. You cannot have any social gatherings in your home, only the members of your immediate household. Dinner on the 14th and Christmas Eve have been cancelled with the family. It's best to be safe for everyone and of course we will respect the orders of our Provincial Health Officer.
Cheryl has a fantastic idea. I will cook the turkey. Between Cheryl and Tara (sister-in-law), they will make everything else. I will take the cooked carved turkey over to Cheryl's mid-afternoon. I'll meet Tara at Cheryl's, we will wear masks and each of us will get enough food for our family! We will take it home and eat it in our own homes. Hopefully we can Zoom while we all eat. Catherine, Brad and Maria have all be invited to participate too!
Richard is coming to our house Christmas day for dinner as he's in our bubble. He lives alone and has been in our bubble since I picked him up at the airport on March 14th. I wish I could invite more people, but we will adhere to Dr. Bonnie's orders. This is the best option to make the best of a situation we have no control over.
Cec's birthday is January 9th and hopefully we can celebrate together. If we can't, we will wait and celebrate when it's safe.
