Poor Italian

My son-in-law won $5,000 on the Childrens Hospital Lottery.  They've bought tickets every year and you never expect to win.  What a surprise when Dave got the call he actually won!   He thought it was a scam until the lady gave him his address and ticket number.  Cheryl verified it and I found his name already shown as winner online!

To celebrate, they invited us to dinner.  Dave knows Angelo, the owner of the Poor Italian.  It's a well known East Vancouver restaurant.

If Tony Parsons likes it, it must be good!

Lets have some appetizers!

Cec has the scallops!

Cheryl, Dave and I all had the Ahi Tuna!   It was delicious with fennel.  Lexie had bread.

This wine is not available in liquor stores.  It's a special order and it was delicious!   We had another bottle of wine.  Cheryl and Cec loved the second bottle, but Dave and I loved the Edizione!

The menu was amazing!   We all had different dishes, and here are some of them:

Cec had the Mixed Seafood Linguine (top picture) and I had Pappardelle and Lamb (above).  There was a lot of lamb underneath the Pappardelle.  Cheryl had the Seafood Risotto, Dave had the Veal specialty and Lexie had Spaghetti, hold the meat balls.  Well, they didn't hold the meat balls and Cec and Dave ate them for her!

Dessert, really.  Oh yes they all had dessert, I had coffee:

Open Cannoli Crisps!   Cheryl said it was delicious.  Cec had Tiramisu, Dave had Pecan Pie, Lexie had Venetian Chocolate Mousse Cake and I had coffee!  I was too full for dessert!

Dinner was fabulous!  We will be back for sure.

So many things to celebrate today
