Moving?

No, not us, but friends just did.  Jean was my sister's best friend in Carleton School and right through Gladstone High.  She was with Louise the night she met Richard.  They remained friends through the years.  When my sister was gravely ill in Peace Arch Hospital, I called Jean and she came to visit.  She came before she went to church and after.  Louise passed away that evening.  I will never forget what a good friend she was to Louise.

Jean still works part time for Maritime Travel.  She invited me to go with her to the Dominican Republic for a week and on a fam cruise on the brand new Celebrity Edge.  We booked the rail trip this summer with Jean and Rick to Ontario.  Rick had a medical issue and they had to cancel.  We cancelled a week later when final payment was due as venues were still closed and Ontario was in semi lock down.

Jean and Rick sold their condo last month and moved into a wonderful independent living high rise in White Rock.  They invited us to see their new digs!

The location is one block away from Semiahmoo Mall in White Rock.  Their apartment is huge!  It's two bedrooms, two bathrooms and has a kitchen.  The apartment is cleaned weekly and they change your sheets.  There is a fridge, oven, microwave, cooktop, dishwasher, and washer/dryer in their unit.  They have a wrap around balcony with a north west view.  Being on the 13th floor, the view is amazing and they can see the ocean!

I've never seen a kitchen this nice in an independent living building!

View of the north shore mountains

View of the water at sunset!

I was amazed at how large the apartment was.  Three meals a day are included and there is also a "pay" gourmet restaurant if you want a special dinner.  The menus are amazing.  Of course being like a cruise ship there are many activities.  There is a card room, a puzzle room, a huge gym along with a games area.   Every room has huge windows with a lot of light.

Card Room

Multi purpose room complete with a bar, and grand piano.  This is the video section, there i another huge area on the other side with chesterfields and coffee tables.

Walkway all around the building with nice gardens, lots of chairs and a putting green.

This picture was taken right beside the putting green.  Like to garden?  You have all the supplies you need

These two nice gentlemen let me take their picture.

This is the pay dining room

This is the regular dining room and it's a lot bigger but I couldn't get it all in the picture.

Just before we left, I had to go outside and capture the sunset
Parc Oceana is the name of this building.   The location is awesome.  Everything you need is within two blocks.  The menus are wonderful and three meals a day are included.  They have entertainment and so many games and activities planned.  There is a driver who will take you to any appointments you need to go to.  There are lockers and underground parking.

Jean and Rick are so happy and it's great to see this wonderful residence!
